jailbreaking your iTouch 2.0 firmware

Want to jailbreak your iTouch 2.0 firmware? It's very easy!! what you need to do is just follow some simple steps. It takes up to only few minutes to jailbreak it .Basically there's 2 ways to do so:

1) the older method is if you have an iPod Touch with the 2.0 software the easiest way to jailbreak is to downgrade to 1.14 and then use the ZiPhone method.

2) or you can do so using QuickPwn. It supports all versions of 2.0 and 1.1.5 is hackable with ZiPhone, so you don’t need this tutorial for that version.

1. Get QuickPwn

Download QuickPwn
Unzip QuickPwn and get it running

2. Use QuickPwn (pretty easy)

When you first start QuickPwn, a window will pop up asking you to select the current device you have plugged in. Select yours.
Select the file of the firmware that you are currently running
To find firmware files downloaded via iTunes, follow these directions. Open a folder and go to My Computer. Go to the Tools tab and click the view tab. Then click Folder Options and click “view hidden files and folders”, then click ok. Now follow this path. . Click Local Disc C, Documents and Settings, USERNAME, Application Data, Apple Computer, iTunes, iPod Software Updates. There are your downloaded firmwares.
Make sure all three options are clicked and then click the next arrow

3. The Command Line

For those of you not familiar with the command line, this might be a little scary. Just read what it tells you to do and do it.
It will first ask you to turn off your iPod/iPhone. Press enter when done
The next part is kinda weird. I think what they are trying to do is a DFU mode. Whatever. Just follow the instructions. First, you will hold the power button for five seconds. Then you will hold power AND home for ten seconds. Then you will release the power button and just hold home for up to thirty seconds (mine stopped at 22). Simple, no?
When it works, your iPod will turn white. The command line will run aa total of seven operations, showing the percentage points. Somewhere along the line of operations, the Pwn logo will pop up on your iPod.
The logo will disappear and the refresh circle will be spinning for about twenty to thirty seconds
The iPod will turn off and then on
Now you are done with the Pwning

4. Final touches

On your iPod/iPhone, go to Settings, General, Auto-Lock, and set it to 5 minutes
Go to Cydia and let it install its updates and such
Go to Sections, All Packages, and select BossTool and install it
Once installed, exit Cydia and open BossTool
Move the fonts. This might take a while, but just wait until it says “Fonts Already Moved”
Open Cydia, Go to Manage, click BossTool, select Modify, and remove it

5. If you want to deal with Installer

Open Installer and go to categories and select sources. Install Community Sources
If this doesn’t work, go to the sources tab and try to refresh the source there
Keep checking Installer and wait for updates and a version that isn’t beta

How to jailbreak your iTouch 1.14?

If you have an iPod Touch with the latest 2.0 software you will need to downgrade your software from 2.0 to 1.14 before using this tutorial.

Here are DETAILED instructions for Jailbreaking your iPod Touch. Just some extra info, it takes up as much space as ONE song. So not a lot at all.

WARNING: If anything goes wrong, hold the home button and the power button until it turns off. Keep holding it until it shows the connect to iTunes image. Then try again. It should work the second time if the first doesn’t.

1. Restore your iPod to firmware 1.1.4

Plug in your iPod and run iTunes.
When your iPod shows up in iTunes, click the restore button
This will erase everything on your iPod, but you can sync it later
Do not restore from a backup

2. Download ZiPhone

Download ZiPhone
Click on the downloaded file and let it install
If it doesn’t install, you need to download and install this .net microsoft file

3. Run ZiPhone

With your plugged in iPod and ZiPhone running, click Jailbreak (the second action)
Wait a minute, and your iPod will be jailbroken with installer on your home screen.

4. Get it Running

In installer, go to the Install tab, click all packages, and install BSD Subsystem
To get the January apps, go to the sources tab and click edit, and add http://ipodtouchmaster.com/files/repo.xml OR http://repo.applerepo.com
In the Install tab, go to iPhone 1.1.4 Applications and install iPhone 1.1.4 Apps
Add the source
In Installer, go to Install, All Packages, then install BossTool
Once installed, click home and let the iPod refresh
Click BossTools, Free Disk Space, then Relocate Fonts
You can then uninstall BossTool in Installer in the Uninstall tab

5. You are done

Sync with iTunes and enjoy your Touching

The only official way to obtain third-party applications for the iPod Touch is Apple's App Store, which is a branch of iTunes Store. The App Store application, available in all versions of the iPhone OS from iPhone OS 2.0 onwards, allows users to browse and download applications from a single online repository (hosted by Apple) with the iTunes Store.

To develop such software, a software development kit (SDK) was officially announced on March 6, 2008, at an Apple Town Hall meeting.[23] The iPhone SDK allows developers to make applications for the iPhone and iPod Touch after paying a fee to join the development team. The developer can then set the price for the applications they develop and will receive 70% of money earned. The developer can also opt to release the application for free and will not pay any additional costs.

Shortly after the iPod Touch was released, hackers were able to "jailbreak" the device through a TIFF exploit. The resulting application enabled the user to download a selection of unofficial third-party programs. Some of these give the user more control over the iPod Touch than is officially available, and also make it possible to install Linux operating systems on the device. All officially released versions of the iPhone OS through 3.0 can be jailbroken, Servicing an iPod Touch after jailbreaking or other modifications made by unofficial means is not covered by Apple's warranty. So be warned if you want to make any modification to your iTouch.

The iPod Touch or so called iTouch is a portable media player, personal digital assistant, and Wi-Fi mobile platform designed and marketed by Apple Inc. Basically it's nothing much just like an iPhone without a phone calling function.

The iPod Touch has a slim rectangular shape with rounded edges, with a glass touchscreen display covering most of the top surface and a physical home button off the touchscreen. The display functions similarly to the multi-touch trackpad as implemented in Apple's current line of laptop computers.

The home screen has a list of icons for the available applications. All iPod Touch models include such applications as Music, Videos, and Photos (collectively duplicating the standard functions of the iPod Classic), iTunes (providing access to the Wi-Fi Music Store), Safari, YouTube, Calendar, Contacts, Clock, Calculator, and Settings. Later models added Mail (accessing POP/IMAP/SMTP e-mail), Maps, Stocks, Notes, and Weather, which could also be added to the earlier models with the purchase of a software upgrade. The user can add direct links to Web sites, called "Web Clips", to the home screen. All iPod Touch models are equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g.

Comparisons to the iPhone and model comparisons

The iPod Touch and the iPhone, a smartphone by Apple, share the same hardware platform and run the same iPhone OS operating system. The iPod Touch lacks some of the iPhone's features such as access to a phone network and built-in camera and microphone; as a result, the iPod Touch is slimmer and lighter than the iPhone.

The second generation iPod Touch has an external volume switch and a built-in speaker like the iPhone. The second generation also comes with the chrome frame seen on the iPhone 3G, making the two almost identical when viewed from the front. However, there are some notable differences, as there is no speaker above the screen, no silent/ringer switch, the back is metal, and the sleep/wake button is on the other side. The second generation also supports audio input when a headphone or earphone with microphone capabilities is plugged into the audio output (headphone) jack. The applications processor inside the second generation iPod Touch runs slightly faster than the processor inside the iPhone 3G, but slower than the iPhone 3GS.

What is iPhone??

Why is iPhone so popular? Why can't i see keypad in iPhone? Is iPhone just a phone?bla bla bla...For those who doesn't know what an iPhone is, here is a short description and intro of the small little device that has created a tremendous "WOW" effect globally.

iPhone is an Internet-connected, multimedia GSM smartphone designed and marketed by Apple Inc.

Features:

its minimal hardware interface lacks a physical keyboard,
the multi-touch screen renders a virtual keyboard when necessary.
functions as a camera phone (also including text messaging and visual voicemail)
a portable media player (equivalent to a video iPod)
and an Internet client (with email, web browsing, and Wi-Fi connectivity).

The first-generation phone hardware was quad-band GSM with EDGE;
the second generation added UMTS with 3.6 Mbps HSDPA;
the third generation adds support for 7.2 Mbps HSDPA downloading but remains limited to 384 Kbps uploading as Apple had not implemented the HSPA protocol.

Apple announced the iPhone on January 9, 2007, after months of rumors and speculation. The original iPhone was introduced in the United States on June 29, 2007 before being marketed worldwide. It has even gained the title of Invention of the Year in 2007 by Time magazine!!
On July 11, 2008, the newly released iPhone 3G supports faster 3G data speeds and assisted GPS. And then the latest version, Apple announced version 3.0 of the iPhone OS operating system for the iPhone (and iPod Touch), released on June 17, 2009. It has improved performance, a camera with more megapixels and video capability, and voice control.
